New Music: Sleigh Bells – “You Don’t Get Me Twice”

Sleigh-Bells-006

After announcing their third studio LP, Bitter Rivals, Sleigh Bells are back with more music! The latest, titled “You Don’t Get Me Twice”, is a jittery but oddly melodic tune (thanks to Alexis Krauss’ pop-heavy vocals). It has a lighter production that we’re used to, with Derek Miller easing off the hard-hitting guitar riffs.

Look out for Bitter Rivals on October 8.

Sleigh Bells Announce New Album ‘Bitter Rivals’; Readies New Fall Tour

bitter-rivals

Everyone’s favorite noise-pop duo, Sleigh Bells, are planning a quick comeback as they’ve announced the follow-up to 2012’s epic Reign Of TerrorBitter Rivals, the duo’s third album, is set to be released on October 8. They’ve paired the announcement with an official video for the album’s first single, also called “Bitter Rivals.”

The video is typical Sleigh Bells, with singer Alexis Krauss showing off her boxing moves while wearing a leopard robe and Derek Miller donning a LSU jersey and rocking out on his guitar. The song itself maintains the duo’s signature sound of thrashing, metal-heavy guitar riffs combined with delicate pop melodies – pair that with a super-cool yet low-key ’80s hip-hop undertone.

It is definitely not a departure from Reign of Terror, but hopefully this new album will expand that sound into something a bit more grimy and less chaotic. Bitter Rivals is produced by Miller and mixed by Andrew Dawson (YeezusWolfWatch the Throne).

Listen to “Bitter Rivals” below and view the album’s tracklisting:
