New Music: BANKS – “Brain”

In anticipation of her upcoming debut LP, BANKS has given her fans a taste of what her record will sound like. “Brain,” produced by Shlohmo, is typical BANKS – a pairing of her moody and ethereal vocals paired with synth-heavy, simmering production. It begins with a slinky intro but then turns into an explosive howl during the bridge at the 2 minute mark.
It’s definitely the most sonically massive song from the LA-based singer, and is also the most heartfelt with lyrics like: “I can see you struggling/Boy don’t hurt your brain/Thinking what you’re gonna say/‘Cause everything’s a game.”
