In the most exciting news of 2013 so far, The Dead Weather has just announced their official comeback to the music industry. The rock band (which consists of star players like (The Kills‘ Allison Mosshart, Queens of the Stone Age‘s Dean Fertita of Queens of the Stone Age, The Greenhornes & The Raconteurs‘ Jack Lawrence and of course Jack White) formed back in 2009 and gave us album gems like 2009’s Horehound and 2010’s Sea of Cowards before taking a three-year hiatus. But…now they’re back!

The band hit the studio to record back in August, but they’ve just revealed they will be releasing two-song singles from now until 2015 – the year when their third album will drop. Third Man Records made a statement about the news: “[The songs] are unlike anything else the band has ever done and are both ample reminders of the ferocity of this motley collection of low-lifes, grifters and ne’er-do-wells. These songs are not throw-aways. These songs are not demos. These songs are not outtakes.” The songs will be available on both on vinyl and digital. So exciting!

In the meantime, listen to a snippet of their new song “Open Up (That’s Enough)”:
