The Weeknd tries to connect with true love in his apocalyptic video for “Belong To The World,” off his forthcoming sophomore album Kiss Land. The eight-minute video shows the singer in a dazed & confused state as he searches for his girl in a bleak, futuristic world while the chilling, percussion-heavy track plays in the background.

The Toronto-bred singer is well-known for using samples, yet this time he’s facing some backlash. Portishead‘s Geoff Barrow claims The Weeknd still used the band’s song “Machine Gun” even after they denied his request. He took to Twitter to vent his frustrations, calling the incident “a load of bollox.” He went on to say, “”When someone asks to sample you and you refuse they should have the respect as a fellow artist to not use it” and ”We usually give sample clearance to  tunes we like. its got fuk all to do with money! As most of them are hiphop artist that are skint.”
