…And the songs just keep on coming!

The latest release from The Great Gatsby soundtrack comes from Emeli Sande & The Bryan Ferry Orchestra, with their cover of Beyonce’s “Crazy in Love”. The jazzy interpretation is perfectly suitable for the film and is a refreshing take on the diva’s signature songs. The only downside is that Sande’s contemporary vocals do not commit to the 1920s vibe.

New Music: Beyonce & Andre 3000 – “Back To Black” (Amy Winehouse Cover)

After hearing a brief snippet from The Great Gatsby film commercial, the full version of Andre 3000 and Beyonce’s “Back To Black” is here.

The duo spins the original Amy Winehouse song on its head by adding chilling electronic influences. But does it give the Mark Ronson-produced original track justice? The answer is no.

For starters, Andre 3000’s odd and off-kilter rap flow does not mesh well with the juxtaposed ease tension of the production. This along with Beyonce’s inappropriate sultry and heavy vocals takes away from the true essence Winehouse meant for her song.

But don’t take my word for it. Listen below and judge for yourself:

The Great Gatsby 17-song soundtrack will be available on May 7.

Crystal-Castles

The third album from electronic duo Crystal Castles was one of last year’s strongest, so I’m glad to see the continuance of promotion and sick visuals.

The latest video (filmed while they were on their South American tour) is designed for “Affection”, a euphoric yet distorted track.

Enjoy below:

Look out for Crystal Castles on the road as they go on tour with Depeche Mode & Bat For Lashes.

With the premiere of the highly anticipated film The Great Gatsby nearing, a few songs from the official soundtrack have been released. The latest one comes from Lana Del Rey with “Young & Beautiful”.

In true LDR fashion, the singer belts an emotional ballad assisted by a grand orchestra-like production. The track is powerful yet delicate, thanks to Lana Del Rey’s haunting vocals.
