YouthandHysteria Celebrates Its First Anniversary!
March 23rd, 2012 § 4 Comments
In the past, I have celebrated my goal of reaching 100 and 250 posts respectively, but this milestone means the most to me. Today marks the one year anniversary of the creation of youthandhysteria.
I find it incredibly ironic that the first post I wrote on this site was about how I quit writing poetry. While I mainly post about hot topics in music and fashion, in an odd way my posts have become my poetry.
I have gotten to share my thoughts and opinions on the two industries that I love and hope to work in the future, which has been the ultimate highlight of this year.
I did not realize until a year passed how much writing has become such an integral part of my life.
I thank you all for reading, liking, reblogging, following, commenting and subscribing to my posts.
The support I have received has been crazy!
If there is anything you would like to see from me for youthandhysteria, let me know. I’m always looking for room to grow.
Here’s to the next few years…

If you’re a fan of listening to live music and doing who knows what in a city that makes you choose your own adventures, then there’s a good chance you’re a fan of SOUTH BY SOUTHWEST. After we endured a 46-hour trek from Toronto to Austin via train last Spring, the minute we landed into the home of the Longhorns and the somewhat unauthorized birthplace of independent sound, our hearts sank into our chests, and the neverending roller coaster of new music began.
Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop! youthandhysteria’s 250th post!

Today marks my 250th post for youthandhysteria! I knew I would get here at some point but I just did not know when. Looking back at the time when I celebrated my 100th post last November, this blog has grown tremendously.
The biggest highlight I have experienced this year is -hands down- my Lana Del Rey Born To Die album review making WordPress’s homepage “Freshly Pressed” three days in a row and receiving 8,000+ views and 200+ followers over the course of three short days. When I wrote that post, I never EVER thought it would receive the praise that it did (and continues to do). So I thank everyone who has supported me and read my article!
Another highlight has been interviewing Vieem, an indie pop musician who found me via the Born To Die review, for youthandhysteria for the first time! Look out for that post coming in the next few days!
Definitely keep me on your radar, I don’t plan on stopping any time soon…
The Lana Del Rey Effect

Reblogged from From Desk Till Dawn:
What I will refer to as The Lana Del Rey Effect (TLDRE for short, although I doubt it’s an acronym that will catch on) has had me scratching my head and adopting a puzzled look with more and more frequency the closer it got to her debut album release. I can’t recall another artist that has had so much negative, and at times sexist, column inches bringing in the old saying “there’s no such thing as bad publicity” to question.
